Watch: The stirring anthem as the Red Wall carried Wales to a home World Cup play-off

This is the incredible anthem as Wales secured a home World Cup play-off semi-final, taking them the closest they've been to the competition in 60 years.

After a Kevin De Bruyne goal put Belgium, the world's number one side ahead, Kieffer Moore first-half equaliser earned Wales a precious draw.

Neco Williams came close to a late winner for the home side but it was saved by Koen Casteels.

However the draw as enough for Wales to secure a home game in March's play-off semi-finals, leaving Welsh fans celebrating long into the night.

The home draw means that Wales avoid Italy, Portugal, Scotland, Russia and Sweden.

They will instead face one of Austria, North Macedonia, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine or the Czech Republic. The draw will be made on Friday, 26 November.

Watched the match a was so proud how the crowd sang Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau and Yma O Hyd with gusto.. If only they had the same belief in Wales politically. If we shout, we get heard & noticed. If we stay silent, nobody hears or cares. Anyway, Wales matched Belgium man for man and were unlucky not to win. We proved all the doubters wrong. Page and the Wales team deserve a standing ovation.. ⚽👋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Spine tingling - not to mention another great night for Welsh football. But alas it's still the case that for too many people in Wales their belief in our nation doesnt go any further than belting out 'land of my fathers' at a sporting event. It's not enough just to be an independent nation on the sports field - we need to be an independent nation politically too!

I thought they'd sung the anthem at soccer games for a while now? Why are you making such a big deal of it on this site now ? Or is it that not many supporters sang it before? I'm confused....

100% this. Apparently Welsh people singing the Welsh national anthem is newsworthy now? They posted almost the exact same article after the Belarus game as well. It's an incredible anthem, but it's not news.

You see, Jack, this is a news website for Wales, and although a football crowd singing the national anthem isn't the most important thing happening here right now, it's relevant insofar as its an item about Wales posted for the benefit of Welsh people. And its also a good moral-booster that only seems to have upset anyone with an anti-Wales mindset.
