Wales fans turn on Rob Page after a 4-0 defeat in Slovakia

Wales fans took their anger out on beleaguered boss Rob Page after last night's thrashing by Slovakia.

Chants of 'In transition' mocking the Wales boss could be heard as Page and his players went to applaud the Welsh supporters after last night's 4-0 loss at the Anton Malatinský Stadium in Trnava.

The Wales boss has continually protested his team is 'in transition' despite all the stats showing otherwise and his oft repeated claim was sarcastically chanted back at him last night.

Page was appointed permanent manager after the World Cup play-off final victory over Ukraine in June 2022, but Wales have since won only five times in 22 games.

The pressure has cranked up on Page since Wales missed out on this summer’s European Championship, and two June friendlies have proved nothing short of a disaster for him.

Page was booed by Wales’ fans after Thursday’s goalless friendly draw against Gibraltar, the world’s 203rd-ranked team who had lost their last 13 games, conceding 50 goals.

Some of those supporters had called for Page to be sacked, but the manager insisted that he was focused on the future and determined to blood young players ahead of the Nations League campaign in the autumn.

However, his position now appears untenable after the thrashing against Slovakia and the fans turning on him.

He hasn’t a clue! Picks the wrong players, has no plan b, never mind a C! Like How does Da Silva get in the side ahead of Jordan Davies of Wrexham?and Kieffer More is not an International Striker. Call up Mullen!!!

You think Mullen who's never scored a goal above League 1 level is international class? Will Evans of Newport is way ahead of him.

What the hell are you on about. Are you having a laugh, Jordan Davies?! Agree that Mullen should be given a go in a friendly but he's not exactly proved himself at the top... ever.

Yes, Jordan Davies! Second best player at Wrexham behind Mullen. As for Mullen himself, are you really saying Moore is better? Really?! lol! You get more movement from a tree than Moore.

Welsh fans have to be realistic.....no-one else will want the job? No one better than Page? There will be minimal interest in the job....and will be paid peanuts! The grass isnt always greener!

Rob has to go now, and we have to get things sorted before September. One thing though. It is fine singing 'in transition' after his rather silly comment, but the man heard to shout 'f-ck off Page' is totally out of order. We are Welsh, not English, lets not start acting like them!

Look at the Welsh crowd most in their early twenties never seen the real dark days of Welsh football. I'm not a huge fan of Rob Page but he has played experimental, young teams in both games. He has learned a lot about who he can and cannot rely on in the future.

Any team he put out should have been able to beat Gibraltar, even if it was a scrappy 1-0. He is tactically inept and has no plan B.

Yep, losing 4-2 to Armenia, 0-0 to Gibraltar and 4-0 to Slovakia is unacceptable for teams like Northern Ireland, let alone Wales! Anyone defending this man has ulterior motives. Like how Liverpool fans pretend to be United fans in order to try and seem everything is okay with the club and team. Hoping thing stay the same or deteriorate further.
