Watch: Rob Page endures uncomfortable post-match interview

There was no room to hide for Wales' manager Rob Page after his side were jeered off the pitch by Welsh fans following a 0-0 draw with Gibraltar.

Page, who has been under pressure by many who believe he should have gone after Wales failed to qualify for Euro 2024 in Germany, faced a series of difficult questions from Sgorio's Sioned Dafydd after what must surely rank as one of the worst results in the nation's history.

In a post-match interview the S4C football reporter put Page under the spotlight from the off - opening with 'Rob, the last two sides that failed to score against Gibraltar were the Faroe Islands and Grenada. Thats the kind of company we're in this evening'.

Page, who has persistently protested that Wales are a team in transition, despite that statement persistently being proven to be incorrect, looked a beaten man.

Wales now need to bounce back when take on Slovakia on Sunday.

32,000 people live in Gibraltar that's about the same as Pontypridd and a bit less than Caerffili. In 2023 they lost 14-0 to France in Nice. PAGE OUT!!!

Page wants to pull the wool over our eyes on the Poland game. Shouldn’t have come down to two ridiculous games v Armenia! They put 5 goals past us, I would call that a problem! 4 goals at home! Page just doesn’t have what we need for a coach! He’s old school. We need a progressive coach in the Speed mould. We were star struck in the World Cup and were a mess before that in the Euros where we were pasted by Denmark. He’s relied on Bale to take us out of trouble a number of times. He doesn’t have that now, and doesn’t have the knowledge and experience to dig us out of this one!

Tactics are all wrong, and have been for a while, it seems we have regressed under Rob Page, time for a different approach, Osian Robert's anybody?

I can't say I have been a fan of Page's approach to date - but I think it might be worth him staying on in the short term? More than just the continuity aspect. From what I can gather, it is now the first time since he took over as full manager that he will not be going to a major championships . So, it is a new set of circumstances that he is dealing with, and in that regard, I think that he does have a degree of 'free rein' in upcoming matches while the Euros is going on. There have been glimpses with the team of good stuff : the win over Ukraine surprised me, and the result with Finland was proof of goal scoring ability (be interesting to see Scotland v Finland tonight). Also as is written, we are on an undefeated run. There are also the downsides though of the Armenia games . The Gibraltar result is hopefully a rocket up the backside (but perhaps that is what these games are for ?). As others have mentioned on here, I would be happier with a more progressive management approach; perhaps it is naive of me to think that Page can bend towards this, but you never know. As for Osian Roberts: agree, he has done a wonder over in Italy. Hopefully he will manage Cymru some form in future.
