I've nothing against the England team but the hype! It's never ending - did we see this much hype when Wales got to the semis in 2016 ? Nope, even Downing street, currently ablaze with red crosses, had to be forced to fly one solitary Welsh flag. It's time the hype ended - good luck Spain !

Let's be honest. England throughout the tournament were mediocre at best. They were extremely lucky to be where they now as if it were not for a Slovakian lapse in concentration would be back home with their tails between their legs and Gareth Southgate picking up his P45. The hype with the English press is ridiculous borderline nauseous and why we need the devolution of broadcasting. As mentioned by our first poster S Duggan , Wales reached the 2016 Euro semi-final after beating the favourites Belgium 3-1 and nothing. Nothing on the BBC, ITV, Ch4 or Sky supporting Wales. No PM or Prince of Wales supporting us. No a bank holiday suggested if Wales won, no knighthood for Robert Page or the possibility of a pizza advert on network TV lampooning our failure to beat the would-be finalist and winner Portugal like England had one tournament. We didn't even have the usual BBC Radio Wales phone-in interrogating English people across the border asking them, "are you going to support Wales in the Euro semi-final" as done many times to us Welsh football fans over the years when Wales failed to qualify for both World Cup & Euros. Painful listening from a so-called national Welsh radio station that cheers on England more than Wales. So on Saturday I will Spanish for a day. They've been the best team so far. England will have to play out of their skins to beat them, or do as they've done throughout the games played by boring teams into a stupor, then towards the end throwing themselves on the pitch after being shot by an invisible bullet from a sniper so they can have a chance to score an opportunist goal towards as done recently. Freedom of choice allows anyone to support whoever. Now I hope Spain win because of the quality they have shown, been great to watch a new young talent breakout in a team that is great to watch play. Sadly I might need to watch it on silent or get alternate feed due to the hate turned into hype of the arrogant English media. England have had luck, sometimes needed, but not that good a team to deserve a win

The real anti-English bigots are the politicians, both on the left and the right. Those who deny England the right to a have a national anthem. Jacob Rees-Mogg criticised England fans for abandoning the Union flag in favour of the St Georges Cross. Emily Thornberry also once attacked her constituents for flying the England flag. Yet the accusations of anti-Englishness are always directed at the Welsh or the Scots because some of us want independence or that we won't support their football team.

This comment was meant for ROB - that’s because they aim to turn us all into one people with our origins being that of The Anglo Saxons. Having us abandon our British (Brythonic) origins. They are already half way there with our acceptance of the term Welsh.
