I was also in the audience and have written a bit about my take on the "conspiracy" on my blog http://miserableoldfart.blogspot.co.uk/2017/06/right-wing-bloger-becomes-most-left.html . My take is the same as Alun's, there were plenty of right wingers there, but they were just too miserable to cheer on their own leaders.

And the locals tended to be more right wing to balance out the left wingers they brought in from Scotland and Wales. I turned up late because I went into town to get something to eat, so I was probably arriving at the same time as the Tory supporters.
