Artist produces Dylan inspired video for Caerphilly by-election

By Mark Mansfield
Artist David Garner's video inspired by Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues

Desmond Clifford

This may look vaguely familiar..? Artist David Garner has been inspired by Bob Dylan’s
famous “Subterranean Homesick Blues” – effectively the first ever music video – to produce
a contemporary commentary.

The performance also references Charlie Chaplin, a major influence on the artist, and his film “The Great Dictator”.

Ebbw Vale

David tells me that Chaplin visited Ebbw Vale early in his career, amazingly. And as we know, Bob Dylan, still truckin’, visits Swansea in a couple of weeks.

It’s hard not to think that Wales is the centre of the cultural world sometimes.

Fun fact: the original Bob Dylan film was shot in an alley behind the Savoy Hotel in 1965 and Allen Ginsberg helped prepare the cue cards.

You’ll have to guess where David Garner’s mysterious film was shot.

Sorry? We won’t get ANY bilingual signs with Reform UK when they embark upon Welsh eradication.

Unfortunately, this reminds me of people laughingly shouting the Jeremy Corbyn chant, when the harsh reality was another decade of Tory power. 'The looney left opens the door to the nasty right', but in these polarised times many prefer the coin toss between the two rather than any form of moderation.

Haha and yet we have Starmer and his inner circle who are more Tory than the previous 14 years of The Conservative Party. Furthermore no one was chanting Jeremy Corbyn in 2015 as you put it as Corbyn didn't fight his first election until 2017. I certainly don't know what papers you read or what news channels you watch but as I've told you before Corbyn got more votes in 2017 than what Blair had in his 3 terms. Why on Earth did you think Teresa May had to have a voting pact with the DUP ! Your timelines are way off the mark maybe you've been watching too much Dr Who.

Haha, keep celebrating irrelevant triviality instead of actually winning elections, maybe that's the reason the loony left have not won a general election in over half a century. Probably the reason for so much bitter jealousy against Blair winning 3 general elections and Starmer being the current Prime Minister.

How? Reform want to wipe the Welsh from the map?

So true. I believe we Welsh people are better, kinder and more sane than Reform supposes. I hope I am still right, I wouldn't recognise my own country otherwise.
