It was particularly welcome news for the makers of the Rob.Ryan.Red football podcast who have been urging the game developers EA Sports to feature the Welsh club.
In March, @RobRyanRed had tweeted: âWeâd love to see Wrexham back on @EASPORTSFIFA (even if we donât get promoted).
âThe Town hasnât been playable since FIFA 08, surely it makes sense to add us to the worldâs most popular football game given the growing global appeal?â
EAâs inclusion of the National League side is no doubt thanks to the high profile they have been given thanks to their celebrity owners.

But they may also have received a helping hand from one ex-player.
After retiring from football, former Wrexham defender Shaun Pejic has become a FIFA gameplay producer based at EA Sportsâ Vancouver studio.
The âRest of the Worldâ category is used to include interesting and popular teams that arenât in any of the regular leagues featured in the game.
The Wrexham teamâs last FIFA appearance was in 2008 before they were relegated from League Two, leaving them playing non-league football for the past 13 years.
The latest version of the FIFA is due to be released in October.
